Are Taika Waititi and Rita Ora teasing us with a wedding date?

Did Kiwi director Taika Waititi just tell New Zealand he and partner Rita Ora are getting married on Friday? Or that they are already married?

The Thor director posted a video to Instagram on Wednesday morning, which seems to be announcing the couple’s wedding with the caption, “This Friday, Jan 27”.

The clip is a montage of celebrity friends Kristen Stewart, Lindsay Lohan, Jodie Smith, Chelsea Handler and Addison Rae congratulating Ora on her big day.

“I’m so excited for you. I just know you’re going to look f…ing amazing,” says one clip followed with well-wishes and other messages of congratulations.

“I want to congratulate you on your wedding,” says one message.

More likely though, Waititi is simply spruiking the release of his partner’s Ora’s upcoming single and music video You Only Love Me, also due for release on the same day.

The video on social media quickly merges into what seems to be scenes from the music video and ends with a clip of the pop star in a wedding dress and veil. The name of the song flashes across the screen at the end of the reel – You Only Love Me.

Ora also took to Instagram to tease the date. Posting the same video, the Poison singer wrote, “I would like to cordially invite you to celebrate the big day with me… or is it?”

Until now the couple have stayed quiet over wedding rumors. Waititi even famously ended an interview on British show This Morning in 2022, when questioned about his alleged engagement to Ora. And both Waititi and Ora kept quiet around Rumors of a wedding in 2022.
